A summer in review

How exciting! This is our first blog post. Here is a little update on our family. We are returning to Tucson on Monday after living in Flagstaff for almost three months. Joe has been working at Peabody Energy up in Kayenta and likes it a lot. He is hoping to get a full time job here when he graduates in May. Flagstaff is a nice place to live with the exception of me having multiple injuries and traumatic experience, but we will get to that later. Sadly, because Joe could find employment at Peabody, means we won't get to live close to the family in Virginia. Please don't cry Maria! Of course we want to live in Virginia or around there and I am praying we will.

James is about to reach the nine month milestone. He is scooting all over this tiny studio apartment in Flagstaff so I fear what James will do when we come back to Tucson. He is eating a lot of food but hates when I cook for him. Apparently, mama's baby food cookin isn't all that great. I think he is just picky. I can't really screw boiling carrots but he gags like he is being poisoned. No joke, he gets his dramatic side from his dad. :)

So here is our summer in review:
Joe took this picture at the Grand Canyon!
  • Attended Chel and Colin's Wedding- FYI: On our way to Tucson, I almost broke my foot trying to post pictures on the Petersen Family Website. Guess what? I still haven't posted pictures. Apparently, my foot falling asleep is a sign that I shouldn't walk on it.
  • Went to the Grand Canyon which is amazing and I wish we could go back!
  • Went to Virginia and attend three (yes three) weddings for Suzy and Mario. We miss you guys!!
  •  While texting Bekah, I hit my head and now has a gash on my head that required dermabond for it to heal. Luckily, I have a wonderful story of stupidity and a now scar near my hairline.
  • Garmin Lies!! Yes, yes, he does. While trying to pick Joe up from the airport after not seeing him for three days, I get lost going to the airport coming back from Walmart and Bashas. I ended up on a rural forest/ campground area. If it weren't for two nice people, I think James and I would still be in the forest. Lucky for me, I didn't total the car and the car still runs fine for now. Needless to say that I have not returned to Walmart and Bashas. (I probably shouldn't have returned to Walmart after I was approached from a man trying to sell me a Walmart gift card in the rain. He had a swastika tattoo.)
I am just wondering what will happen when we get back to Tucson. I thought this was suppose to be a slow summer. When we return to Tucson, we will start school in a week. In a month, we will go to Utah with Matt, Dad, and Maria for Grandpa's 90th birthday. Then we will go back to Virginia from December 26- January 8 and then we start school again! This time I will be enrolled full time.

Tucson here we come! However, tonight is our last Movie's on the Square and we are going to Monsoon for the last time!
